Me, that had been... me. I turn him sometimes. It can be easier, but it had been some time since I did something like that... hence the awkward.

I... ah, [ clears his throat again. ] thank you. [ he looks aside. ] It's hard for me to believe that people don't mind spending time with me when I look like... this. I guess part of me is hardwired to think I'll be shot on sight or... shunned, which is why I thought I could separate my human self from my monster self. But someone helped me realize there's little point. I'm the same through and though, so I wanted to tell you... and I hope that we can continue spending time together. I enjoy your company.
